Install TimeUno on Linux (AppImage)
The Linux desktop app is an AppImage for 64-bit Intel and AMD computers (x86_64), on Ubuntu 22.04 and newer, Debian 12 and newer, and Fedora. It is in beta and available now on the download page.
- Download
TimeUno.AppImage. - Make it executable:
chmod +x TimeUno.AppImage. - Run it, click Sign in with your browser and connect it to your account.
Which desktops work
- X11 sessions (any desktop): works as is.
- GNOME on Wayland: Wayland hides the window you’re in from other apps, so TimeUno installs a small GNOME Shell extension that answers only TimeUno. The app shows Turn on window tracking for GNOME. Click Install, then log out and back in once (Log out and back in to finish).
- If it shows Turn on the TimeUno extension, click Turn on, or enable it in GNOME’s Extensions app.
- If it shows GNOME couldn’t load the TimeUno extension, your GNOME version may not be supported yet. Log in with an X11 session in the meantime.
- Other Wayland desktops: no app can see the window you’re in. Log in with an X11 session, or use GNOME.
Until window tracking works, TimeUno still tracks your AI tools and, with the browser extension, your browser.
The first time TimeUno reads on-screen text on Linux, it downloads about 12 MB of text-recognition models.
Remote servers
To track Claude Code or Cursor CLI on a server you SSH into, use the headless agent instead.
